Hello, is this thing on? My name is Youp Aalten, and I am the editor-in-chief of PsyGarden – a France-based online magazine about gaming in all of its forms! While we are a brand new publication looking to try our luck in an already very contested environment, our staff of 12 (5 of which, including myself, are writers) has a great deal of experience working in games journalism and the gaming industry. I personally used to be part of a major gaming consulting company which worked with major French developers such as UbiSoft, Quantic Dream and Gameloft. Additionally, we’ve got people who worked on relatively major publications (published online and on paper), as well as writers with inside knowledge of other entertainment areas. While as of now I can’t give you the complete list of our staff (though some of you may have already caught a few sneak peeks on Twitter), I assure you that you’ll find out who we are rather quickly!
What I can tell you, though, is what you can expect from us, which would be news, reviews, guides, editorials and articles on various gaming subjects including, but not limited to, videogames, iGaming (online casinos and betting sites, as well as their mobile counterparts), board games, roleplaying games (in the vein of “Dungeons & Dragons” or “Shadowrun”), live action roleplaying (aka LARPing), alternate reality games, escape rooms, hell, we’d even cover children’s playground games if we’ve got something to say about them! Because of our practically unlimited scope and our talented writers you can expect some really interesting and diverse materials soon! As for why we like to refer to ourselves as a “Psychedelic” games magazine… Honestly, it’s because it sounded very cool. See you guys soon!
